Peregrine has provided a forum for national and international writers since 1983 and is committed to finding exceptional work by both emerging and established writers. We seek work that is unpretentious, memorable, and that reflects diversity of voice. We accept only original and unpublished poetry and short stories. No electronic submissions. No work for or by children. Peregrine, published by Amherst Writers & Artists Press, is staffed entirely by volunteers. All decisions are made by the editors—all published writers—after all submissions have arrived, so our response time may be slower than that of other literary journals. We welcome simultaneous submissions.

We will consider only those manuscripts postmarked March 15 to May 15.

Include cover letter with short bio (40 words max), mailing address, e-mail address, day and evening phone numbers, and a #10 SASE (business-sized self-addressed, stamped envelope; please affix a FOREVER stamp to your SASE. If you wish to have your manuscript returned, include sufficient postage and packaging. Manuscripts lacking sufficient postage and/or packaging, will be recycled. Please do NOT affix metered-postage to your SASE. The USPS will not honor time-specific metered-postage.
